GOODWOOD 2009 - Report We awoke on Easter Saturday to some very gloomy looking skies & ominous clouds but despite our worst fears, Goodwood proved its micro-climate abilities and stayed dry for virtually the entire day.
The previous night’s rain made for very entertaining early sessions with a slightly greasy track allowing the more daring to play with their cars a little and enjoy some sideways action exiting the chicane!
By late morning the track was completely dry and the pace quickened a little while everyone enjoyed another fantastic day at this legendary circuit. We had 7 or 8 track day novices present (as we do every year) and all reported they would be back next year. At lunchtime outside the Jackie Stewart Pavilion it was an amazing sight with about 50 Alfas old and new filling the historic paddock area. About 30 people turned up just to spectate and chat making it a wonderful social event as well as an exciting track day.
Year after year we hear from participants about how much they enjoy the day for the social side as much as the track time – it’s always a very friendly crowd.
